Does anyone remember the movie Independence Day? In the film, Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum save the world from an alien invasion.

My apologies for the spoiler; however, it's safe to assume that if you haven't watched the film after 28 years, you're likely not going to.

Independence is defined as the state of being free of the control of some other person, country, or entity.

"The state of being free." I love the sound of that. So, how do we enter a state of freedom?

In the movie, the unlikely duo gains independence from the aliens by entering the alien's mothership, uploading a virus, and deploying a nuclear missile. They destroy the mothership and the alien invasion forces. They fly directly into the nucleus and destroy it from the inside.

Sometimes, we keep our cheeks clinched so tightly that we don't know what our own s#$& looks like, although oftentimes, we know exactly who and what our issues, invaders, and captors are. It's scary, can be painful, and often feels worse before it gets better, but we've got to go straight to the mothership, straight to the core, ready to blow some s@#$ up!

Let's delve in and address the things we need to address. So that we can gain independence from...

invasive thoughts

imposture syndrome

negativity

trauma

people, places, and vices that serve to halt our freedom.

I can assure you, you're worth the fight.
