Your Roots Are Showing

When we grow, change, or re-pot ourselves, what we are rooted in can change. If we are uncertain of the latter, this can lead to us flailing about in the billows of life, emotions, relationships, decisions, and purpose.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines ROOT as:

  1. the usually underground part of a seed plant body that originates usually from the hypocotyl, functions as an organ of absorption, aeration, and food storage, or as a means of anchorage...
  2. something that is an origin or source
  3. an underlying support
  4. the essential core: HEART
  5. close relationship with an environment: TIE
  6. the lower part: BASE. The part by which an object is attached to something else

If you're feeling all over the place - find your roots. From what source are you drawing...

Absorption - Understanding?
Aeration - Breath/Life?
Food - Nourishment?
Anchorage - Support?

What gives you purpose?
Where do you find meaning?
What gives you worth and identity?
What anchors your anxiety and emotions?
What centers you?
What quiets your mind, reminding you that no matter what happens, everything is going to be okay?
What gives you peace?
What gives you hope and reassurance?
What gives your heart a safe harbor?

What are you rooted in?
